Narius had a complicated childhood, given that he was born into a strictly traditional family under the Sword. He was expected to push his physical form and achieve inner peace, but his peers thought he was abnormal because of his misplaced interests. Narius was forced to endure a school that did little to stimulate his active mind, transforming him into the reserved introvert he is at present.
After dropping out of school in his late teens, he set out to explore the lands to look for scholars of the Storm, mainly to search for answers to his most pressing questions regarding the essence of his own existence and what more may be found “out there” in reference to extraplanetary life. The answers opened his eyes to opportunities he had never considered before, like pursuing his ambition of studying astroscience with a biology major at one of Asha’ra’s top schools. He even had his family’s full support in this endeavor, despite the fact that the route of a Sal born under the Sword is atypically scientific.
Upon finishing his scholarship, he spent most of his adult life working for Sensec, a task group of the big pharmaceutical corporation “Kekikari” in Research & Containment, as the lead astrobiologist in one of their teams.
He worked with and tested numerous biological products of exo-life to help in research for cross-species immunization and gene-altering pharmaceuticals. This allowed him to be extremely close to new and unfamiliar alien lifeforms—studying, documenting, and even learning more about their behavior in his spare time, as he had complete access to the lab after working hours. However, he resigned following a leadership transition at Sensec, which resulted in a fundamental shift in how animals in containment are handled in an effort to decrease expenses and accelerate research.
After that, and until meeting Eight, he conducted his own independent studies while working as a research contractor for several other firms that required third-party peer-reviewed testing to get their goods cleared for the market, allowing him to spend as much time as he wanted with exo-life.
He is now a member of Eight’s crew aboard Ar-T, where he continues to work as an astrobiologist to pursue his passion in studying exo-life as a whole—anatomy, physiology, and psychology. Although he has a reserved nature and prefers to stay solitary in his laboratory on the ship, he gradually warms up to Eight and the crew.
